What does one service really earn you?
Include setup and cleanup in the time. Rent is your booth or suite cost divided by the hours you are booked.
What should you charge?
Tell us what you want to take home per hour. We work backward to the price.
How many clients do you need?
Fixed costs are things you pay whether or not you are booked, like rent, insurance, and software.
Take-home goal is before income tax.
How much should you set aside for taxes?
Use your earnings after business expenses. Self-employment tax alone is about 14% of profit, and income tax comes on top.
Many self-employed people set aside roughly 25 to 30 percent. Your number depends on income, filing status, and deductions. Ask a tax professional for yours.
| Income earned | Estimated payment due |

If a date falls on a weekend or holiday, it moves to the next business day. Read the quarterly taxes guide.
